According to the registry's regulations, the purpose of the .MUSIC gTLD is to exclusively serve the global music community and music industry only.

.MUSIC tld is:

• Exclusively available to verified members of the global music community
• Governed in the interest of the global music community
• Supported by organizations representing over 95% of music consumption globally
• Designed with enhanced safeguards to protect intellectual property and prevent cybersquatting
• Public, which means WHOIS privacy is not allowed. 

Starting from 1-Apr-26, all [.music] domain registration will be no longer be placed under "ServerHold" upon registration. Domains will be active immediately upon successful registration. However, registrant is still required to perform identity verification within 1 year. Registrant, may perform self verification by login to https://www.id.music/.  Nonetheless, Registry will continue to send post-registration verification emails for the activation.
